Vitamin B12 shots have been shown to help weight loss. At best, you may face a shortage of this vitamin B12 deficiency can cause weakness and fatigue, but most people get more than enough of the vitamin in their diet. Some vegans or vegetarians may become deficient, but that is rare. There are many myths about vitamin B12 shots and weight loss, with it being marketed as an energy booster and metabolism enhancer. Intake of vitamin B12
The recommended daily dose of vitamin B12 is 2.4 micrograms. Skin rashes, diarrhea and other skin problems can sometimes occur as a side effect of injections of vitamin B12. A 2003 study published in BMC Psychiatry, Volume 3 Number 17, has found a link between high levels of vitamin B12 and a greater likelihood of successful treatment of major depression. How depression can lead to weight gain, injections of vitamin B12 can indirectly help with weight loss. Another study published in the Journal of Applied Sciences in 2008 in Volume 8 Number 7 found a correlation between low levels of vitamin B and heavier than males in Jordan. No study conclusively shows that taking supplements of B12 helps in weight loss, but these studies hold promise for further research.
Clinical weight loss and B12
Many weight loss clinics advise their clients to take B12 shots. Side effects and risks are minimal, but the same, be aware of research that was conducted on B12, even if you choose to enter such a program. Some of these clinics make misleading statements obviously injections of vitamin B12 that have not been proven by science. Even if a doctor or nutritionist is the staff, is not an indicator that he or she is honest. Ensure that your weight loss strategy is supported by well-tested strategies for a healthy diet and regular exercise.
